About our Premium Makhana

What grade of makhana do you sell?

We stock large, hand-graded fox nuts (makhana) - the big, light, crisp pops, not the small broken bits or "suta" you often find loose in the market. Each lot is sorted for size and cleaned before packing.

Are your makhana roasted or raw?

We sell plain, un-fried makhana so you can roast or flavour them your way. Dry-roast for a few minutes in a little ghee with salt or your favourite seasoning and they turn light and crunchy.

Are they really sourced direct from farmers?

Yes. We source makhana directly from growing regions with no chain of agents in between, which is how we keep both the quality high and the price honest.

Is the makhana FSSAI certified?

Yes - our FSSAI licence number (11520790000402) is on every pack and the product is checked for quality before dispatch.

About our Kalanamak Rice

What is Kalanamak rice?

Kalanamak is an aromatic, soft-textured heritage rice from the Terai region, often called "Buddha rice". It is prized for its distinctive fragrance and flavour and is a traditional GI-tagged variety.

Why does it smell so strongly when cooking?

That natural aroma is the hallmark of genuine Kalanamak rice - it comes from the variety itself, not from any added fragrance. It is exactly what you want from this rice.

How do I cook it best?

Rinse, soak for 20-30 minutes, then cook with a little extra water than usual. It works beautifully plain, in pulao, or in kheer where its aroma really shines.

Is it more expensive than ordinary rice?

It is a premium heritage variety, so it costs more than everyday rice - but because we buy direct from growers, our pricing stays well below the gourmet retail brands.

Which pulses do you stock?

We carry the everyday dals and pulses a kitchen runs on, cleaned and sorted so you are not picking out stones and grit. Check the shop for the current range and pack sizes.

Are your pulses polished?

We focus on clean, wholesome grain rather than heavy cosmetic polishing. Each lot is cleaned and graded before packing.

How should I store pulses?

Keep them in an air-tight container in a cool, dry place away from direct light and moisture. Stored well they keep for several months. A bay leaf or a few cloves in the jar helps keep pests away.

Are the pulses FSSAI certified?

Yes - all TruValue Foods products carry our FSSAI licence and are quality-checked before dispatch.

About our Pure Desi Ghee

How is your desi ghee made?

Our pure desi ghee is made the traditional bilona way - cultured curd, slow-cooked until the butter releases its golden, grainy ghee. It carries the aroma and texture you expect from real desi ghee.

Will the ghee solidify in winter?

Yes, and that is a good sign. Pure cow ghee turns grainy and creamy-white below about 25°C and re-liquefies on its own as the weather warms. It does not affect quality at all.

Does the ghee need refrigeration?

No. Stored on a cool, dry shelf and scooped with a clean, dry spoon, pure ghee is shelf-stable. Refrigeration only makes it harder to scoop.

Is your ghee FSSAI certified?

Yes - the FSSAI licence number is printed on every pack and each lot is quality-checked before it leaves us.

Storage & shelf life

How should I store makhana?

Keep makhana in an air-tight container in a cool, dry place. They stay crisp for months sealed; if they soften over time, a quick dry-roast brings the crunch right back.

How should I store ghee?

A cool, dry shelf is plenty - no refrigeration needed. Use a clean, dry spoon every time (water introduces spoilage). Keep away from direct sunlight and the stovetop.

How should I store rice and pulses?

Air-tight container, cool and dry, away from direct light and moisture. A few cloves or a bay leaf in the jar helps keep pantry pests away.

Where is the best-before date?

Every pack carries a packed/best-before date and our FSSAI licence number. Use the printed date as your guide and store as above for best results.

Shipping & delivery

How long will my order take?

Metro PIN codes (Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad) get delivery in 2-4 working days. Tier-2/3 cities take 3-6 days. Hilly and north-east PINs add 1-2 days. We dispatch within 24 hours of receiving an order.

Is shipping free?

Yes - on every order above ₹999. Below that, a flat ₹79 shipping fee applies regardless of weight or distance.

Do you ship internationally?

Not yet. Domestic India only. We are evaluating Singapore, UK and US for 2026 but no firm date.

Which courier will deliver my order?

Most metros and tier-1 PINs are served by Delhivery surface or air. Remote PINs go via Bluedart or India Post Speed Post. The tracking link in your shipment email lets you check progress live.

What if my PIN is not serviceable?

The checkout page checks your PIN against our courier coverage map in real time. If it is not serviceable, the page tells you before you pay. You can also pre-check at the product page.

Will my order arrive safely?

Yes. Every order is sealed and packed securely in protective cartons for transit. We have shipped across India with a very low damage rate. If anything arrives damaged or tampered with, we replace within 48 hours - just send a photo.

Can I get same-day or scheduled delivery?

Not currently. Every dispatch is a third-party courier handoff with their standard transit windows.

Payment

What payment methods do you accept?

Cards (Visa, Mastercard, RuPay, Amex), UPI, all major net-banking, and wallets - all secured via Razorpay. We are also adding Bank Transfer for B2B orders.

Is online payment safe?

Yes. We never see or store your card details. Razorpay is PCI-DSS Level-1 certified and uses bank-grade encryption end-to-end.

Can I pay in instalments / EMI?

Razorpay supports EMI on most credit cards (3, 6, 9, 12 months). The option appears at checkout if your card is eligible.

Will I get a GST invoice?

Yes. A GST invoice is auto-generated for every order and emailed within a few minutes. For B2B orders, send us your GSTIN at checkout (in the notes field) so we can include it on the invoice.

Cash on Delivery (COD)

Do you accept Cash on Delivery?

Yes - COD is available across most serviceable PIN codes in India. The option appears at checkout once your PIN is confirmed as serviceable.

Is there an extra charge for COD?

Any COD handling fee, if applicable, is shown clearly at checkout before you confirm the order - no surprises.

Can I pay COD by UPI to the delivery agent?

In most cases yes - many of our courier partners accept UPI/QR at the doorstep in addition to cash. It depends on the courier serving your area.

Returns & refunds

What is your return policy?

7-day no-questions return on all unopened, sealed products. If a sealed product feels off or arrived damaged, message us with a photo - we replace or refund, no fuss.

Can I return a product after opening it?

For food-safety reasons we cannot resell opened products, so opened packs are not eligible for return. But if there is a genuine quality issue (off smell, off taste, foreign object) please send a photo and a description - we will replace or refund on a case-by-case basis. We have honoured every such request so far.

How do refunds work?

Refunds hit your original payment method within 5-7 business days. For UPI / net-banking, usually 2-3 days. For credit cards, 4-7 days. We trigger the refund the same day we receive the returned product or approve a damage claim.

What if my order arrives damaged?

Send a photo of the package and the damaged item to info@truvaluefoods.in or WhatsApp +91-91123-45165 within 48 hours. We will arrange replacement or refund within 2 working days.

Can I cancel an order?

Yes - anytime before it ships (usually within 24 hours of placing). WhatsApp +91-91123-45165 or email info@truvaluefoods.in with your order code. Once a courier picks it up, you would need to refuse delivery and we will refund on return.

How do I track my order?

You will get the tracking number on email AND WhatsApp on +91-91123-45165 the moment your order ships. The tracking link in that email opens the courier's live tracking page. You can also see status under "My orders" in your account.

I did not receive an order confirmation email - what now?

Check spam first (search "TruValue Foods"). If still missing, your order is fine - just email info@truvaluefoods.in with the phone number you placed the order with and we will resend.

How can I reach a human?

WhatsApp +91-91123-45165 is fastest (usually a reply within the hour, 10am-9pm IST). Email info@truvaluefoods.in for anything that needs paperwork.

Subscriptions

How do subscriptions work?

Pick a product, pick a delivery interval (every 30, 45, 60 or 90 days), and check out. We ship and bill on the same schedule automatically. You can pause, change qty or cancel any time from your account.

Do I get a discount for subscribing?

Yes - subscribed orders get 10% off the listed price, every shipment. The discount is applied automatically.

Can I pause a subscription if I am travelling?

Yes. Open your account, go to Subscriptions, and hit Pause. You can resume any time. Paused subscriptions do not ship and do not bill.

What if I want to change the product or quantity?

Same place - in your account under Subscriptions. Changes take effect from the next shipment.

Packaging & quality

How are products packed?

Each product is sealed in food-safe packaging and protected for transit in sturdy cartons, so it reaches you fresh and intact.

Is the packaging recyclable?

We use recyclable cartons for shipping and are continually working to reduce plastic across our packaging chain.

Do you offer larger / bulk sizes?

Yes - bulk pack sizes are available for several staples for larger households, kitchens and gifting. Email info@truvaluefoods.in with your requirement for bulk pricing.

Wholesale, gifting & B2B

Do you sell wholesale?

Yes, to grocery stores, cafes, restaurants and corporate gifting programmes. Minimum order ₹25,000. Email info@truvaluefoods.in for a price sheet and the wholesale agreement.

Do you make corporate gift boxes?

We do custom-curated gift boxes combining makhana, rice, pulses and ghee, with a printed card. Lead time 7-10 days. WhatsApp +91-91123-45165 with your headcount and budget.

Do you do private-label / contract manufacturing?

Not at this stage. Every pack that leaves our facility carries the TruValue Foods label - keeps the quality story consistent.

Do I need an account to order?

No. Guest checkout works. We auto-create a lightweight account against your email so you can track the order and reorder later - just hit "Forgot password" on the login page to set one.

How do I reset my password?

Visit https://truvaluefoods.in/forgot, enter your email, and we send a one-time link valid for 30 minutes.

How do you use my data?

Only to fulfil your order, send transactional updates, and (if you opt-in) occasional product news. No third-party trackers beyond standard analytics. We never sell email lists. Full privacy policy at https://truvaluefoods.in/privacy.

How do I delete my account / data?

Email info@truvaluefoods.in from the registered address with subject "Delete my data". We process within 7 days and confirm in writing.
